Diffuse or Air-Dry?

WHICH ONE IS BEST FOR YOUR CURLS?

You’ve applied your products and your curls are looking amazing — now comes the big question: How should you dry your hair?

Should you air-dry naturally or diffuse with a blow dryer? The truth is, both methods work… but the results are very different.

Air-Drying:

✔ Gentle and heat-free
✔ Keeps your curls soft and natural
✔ Perfect for when you have time to let your hair dry completely
But: It takes longer, and if you move around too much while it’s drying, frizz can sneak in.

Diffusing:

✔ Speeds up drying time
✔ Adds volume and bounce
✔ Helps lock in curl definition when done correctly
But: You need to use low to medium heat and low speed to protect your curls from frizz and damage.

If you are wanting volume, tip your head upside down, using a pick you can lift up the roots just a little bit so you’re not stretching out the curl at the roots but you’re bring the hair out 90 degrees out from the scalp just at the roots( I have video’s in my online course of this ) or diffuse your hair the opposite way you want your hair to go. Start at your tips and gently go up to your roots keeping your curls in there clumps, hold for a few seconds at your roots than gently go back down working your way around your head.

My tip: If you want big, bouncy curls with staying power, diffusing is a game-changer. Just make sure your hair is about 80–90% dry before touching it, and always keep the diffuser moving to avoid heat spots.

Both methods work beautifully — it’s all about what suits your lifestyle and your curl goals.

Your curls, your choice — but now you know how to get the best results either way!
